YOUTH WORK FOR ALL CLUBS AND VOLUNTEERS COORDINATOR
FUNDER: DCEDIY Volunteer Activation Fund
LOCATION: This is a hybrid role combining working from home with
frequent travel to Youth Work Ireland member services
DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:
The key objective of the Volunteer Activation Fund is to increase
capacity in the youth sector through increasing the overall number of
volunteers taking part in the sector, increasing the number of
volunteer-led youth clubs across the State, and enhancing
organisations’ ability to support volunteers.
The Fund is intended to support initiatives that will deliver on this
objective, including initiatives focused on:
* Recruiting and supporting new volunteers;
* Establishing new volunteer-led clubs;
* Encouraging young people to volunteer; Retaining volunteers;
* Developing training materials (including making resources
available online); and
* Promote and facilitate regional and national networking of
volunteers and young people to surface and support best practice in
supporting volunteers
In line with the stated fund objectives, this role will support the
development of additional youth clubs and youth club volunteers by
working with volunteers, youth club support staff, and youth workers
who interact with clubs. New resources, promotion campaigns and
electronic infrastructure will be developed. Training and direct
support will be delivered to youth work staff and volunteers.
Volunteers, club workers and youth workers will be engaged in
identifying needs and in the co-design of resources. Particular
attention will be given to underserved geographic areas, growing areas
of club development such as clubs for young people with additional
needs and emerging topics such as climate justice.
